1. DECOTE OMBRO A OMBRO

Frills and polka dots also made the parade, as the duo bared shoulders and midriffs with cropped tops and high-waisted pants.
PROENZA SCHOULER – que blusa lindaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!
Burch was inspired by "beauty found in unexpected places." The beauty at Lincoln Center, enhanced by the placement of giant Moroccan Doors, may not be unexpected but there it was. A smocked floral skirt and top are also doubtlessly pretty.

Just as the show note and delicacy of Givenchy earlier this weekend served up the first poignant moment of SS16 Fashion Week, Prabal Gurung offered its second. Before his show, a group of Buddhist monks filed onto the stage to chant and sing a prayer for those affected by the April earthquake in Nepal, Gurung's native land. For a brief, blessed moment the chatter of the weekend slowed as everyone was reminded that there's more to life than clothes.

Creative director Danielle Sherman headed into spring at Edun with an admittedly tough brief — recent reports have made much about how the company has sustained losses over the past few years in a row. But Sherman focused on what she could do, which is to offer the globally-minded customer who wants something more than hippie-hemp fare well, more than hippie-hemp fare.

Lauren showed his sports authority in the lace-up high tops, gym bags and pullovers—all rendered in caramel leather. This fit in with his notion of preppy luxe, especially when paired with white or navy and other vaguely '70s sportswear silhouettes, like culottes or easy tunic dresses.
RALPH LAUREN
And somewhere in between, the two ideas met in sleek-chic white dresses and vest suits for the citified lady whose catchphrases are modern, serene and effortless.

Narciso Rodriguez's mind works in mysterious ways. Missy Elliott thumped through the speakers as his girls walked out in elegant, subtle, beautifully simple silhouettes. The contrast worked, and Missy's boisterousness highlighted how good a snug tee in the right color on the right girl can be.
NARCISO RODRIGUEZ
The entire collection, Copping paid dutiful homage to the label's namesake while also putting forth his own vision, showing how his sometimes sexy secretary silhouettes can fit in with de la Renta's lady-fied design legacy. Both men clearly love/loved to celebrate women. For Copping, it was seen in the way his pencil skirts and lace tops flattered and fit like gloves without looking overt.

5. TOPS CROPPED

But happiness and design chops are not mutually exclusive. Herrera showed cut-out looks throughout the lineup—tops, skirts and dresses whose sheer thin lines offered keen visual interest and grounded the cotton candy prettiness.
CAROLINA HERRERA – Morri nesse look!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Feathers, fringe, sequins (in blue and burnished copper) covered everything in Wang's evening message. Even if that message was about being brief—bared midriffs, negligees, slips and halter dresses.

Simkhai is a master of the crop top bringing that feminine charm to a lattice embroidery top and skirt pair.

MARISSA WEBB
Smartly, Gurung mixed the ethereally pretty looks he is known for—the sheer gauzy blouses and flyaway dresses and silky gowns with architectural details—with sportier fare, like ribbed off-the-shoulder sweater dresses and long-sleeved gowns that clung to the body, with graphic patterns in orange, yellow and gold.

8. COLETES

Wang mixed sporty bras and briefs with tuxedo vests and men's blazers. And every once in a while, she threw in a tailored skirt or button-down blouse with extra volume in sheer gauze. There were hints of shine, too, in spangled tube tops.
VERA WANG
GIVENCHY – amei esse colete!
Tisci brought it back to the black/white theme with a dizzying, heady number of tuxedos and lacy dresses merged together. Every one the same at its root — white or black lace with a masculine/feminine theme — but different from its neighbor and equally appealing and wonderful. Leave it to a Frenchman to wax eloquently philosophic through his clothes on a muggy September night. Only in New York kids. Only in New York.

The next best thing to a prairie in Manhattan is...The Highline. Stuart Vevers brought a little bit of the wheat-filled West to NYC, and sprinkled it with floral-printed girls in honor of the brand's 75th anniversary.

9. BABADOS

Sim… babados!

lamenco dresses were translated into modern shapes—in both white edged in black and black with red—with cleaner, spare silhouettes and looser ruffled tiers. Tiers that were echoed in the black bows gathering and cinching down the front of other raw-edged lace looks.

Wu's dresses let loose the flou, with ruffles and frills piled on top of vibrant pink. But you could still imagine this hanging in the same closet as a sexy sheer black lace cami and tulle skirt that preceded. There's always two sides to a story, right?
JASON WU

10. FENDAS

The best part was that the thigh-high slits weren't the news here, though much has been made of them of late on social media. They're Altuzarra's signature, sure, but not his only game. Pleated dresses and skirts in burnt reds and oranges, trim pant suits and cinched slim dresses with open necklines slightly tugged off the shoulders rounded out his runway. And it all ended on a very detailed evening note where he painstakingly jeweled and beaded white gauze dresses and black tunics and skirts. Shifting the focus yet again.
ALTUZARRAS
Fashion's fascination with sport doesn't seem to be waning any time soon, and if collections like this one keep offering plenty for those who both partake and just pretend, it'll be around for a long time yet.
RAG & BONE
The clothes were signature Jacobs. Messy, beautiful, punk, ladylike, shiny, grungy, grandpa and glamorous all in one. A veritable soupçon of ideas that he deftly pulled together.

Pinstripe dresses walked in loose sporty shapes and more tailored dresses with a feminine shape. It came in overcoats, blazers, double-breasted sleeveless dresses. If you love a stripe, this is your season.
